CEN.GRAND 9i-90SA Pro
DAC ES9038Pro Headphone Amplifier Preamplifier 32bit 384kHz DSD512

The CEN.GRAND 9I-90SA PRO is a versatile device since it fulfills the functions of DAC, headphone amplifier and preamplifier. It has good performance and integrates an ESS ES9038Po DAC chip working in parallel connection on two channels. Four types of outputs are available for headphone listening to match the impedance level required on different headphones. The headphone amplifier function is also its strong point where the audio performance is very qualitative.
Key points :
- A second generation XMOS XU208 USB interface and an FPGAt that supports PCM up to 32bit 384Khz and DSD up to DSD512.
- An ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip as well as a CT5302 chip operating in dual channels supporting PCM up to 24bit 192KHz and DoP (DSD64) for SPDIF signals in coaxial, optical and AES/EBU input.
- The headphone amplifier function has a single-ended Jack 6.35mm output and two balanced outputs; XLR 4 pins and Jack 4.4mm. It also has 4 output modes: Normal, BTL, Active Ground and Parallel.
- On the preamp side, the circuits are composed of discrete components working with RCA and XLR inputs and can work with infrared remote control.
- Power supply system with I/V converter.

Headphones amplifier outputs modes
The four output modes will allow you to select those that best suit your listening preferences or the characteristics of your headphones. Normal mode is used for headphones and earphones with high sensitivity and BTL mode for headphones with high impedance. Parallel mode is effective for headphones with medium impedance, it increases the driving force but not the gain. Finally, the Active Ground mode which brings a stronger sense of harmonics is therefore suitable for listening to the human voice or string instruments. The Active Ground mode provides a smoother and warmer listening experience.

ESS ES9038Pro DAC chip
This DAC chip works in 8 channels and is very recognized on the market. In particular, it allows the 9I-90SA Pro to operate in 2-channel parallel mode and to support high sampling rates.
XMOS XU208 USB Interface
With isolation technology, the interface is completely protected from the noise generated by the device connected via USB, whether it is a computer or a smartphone for example. This greatly improves the purity of the sound.
LM29720 OPA and volume control
Equipped with a high-performance LPF (low-pass filter), the OPA amplification circuit delivers a clean audio signal. The volume control chip is PGA2311, controlled by MCU. The volume range is -70db~0db.
